Information Collection & Use
Registration
Registration is not required In order to use this Web site.
The only information that we require is your net purchase amount. All other items are optional.
If you do choose to provide contact information (such as name and e-mail address) we may use this information to contact you about your submission. Additionally, if you provide an email address, you will receive an automated confirmation of any transactions that you reported to our site.
In case of any discrepancy between your reported purchase price and that reported to us by the retailer, we will contact you via e-mail if clarification is necessary.
If you are a fund raiser the information that you provide to us is used only to verify the eligibility of the organization to receive contributions and to identify the responsible individual overseeing the fund raising activity. If you provide a telephone number, that number will not be disclosed to any other party.
If you are a Campus Rep or Campus Rep applicant the information that you provide to us is used only to contact you only with regard to your application or your activities as a Campus Rep.
If you are a Campus Rep will will obtain either a Social Security Number (SSN) or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) from you. This will not be done through the web site. It will only be done through written communication.
ACS Consulting is the sole owner of Booksforbucks.com ACS Consulting does not collect personally identifiable information from our users who are submitting their purchase activity. We do collect personally identifiable information from individuals seeking to establish a fundraising activity. Potentially sensitive information, such as social security number (SSN) or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) will never be requested on our site. In the event of a fundraising activity, information of that nature will be obtained through direct contact with the organization or individual directing the fundraising campaign.
Orders
If you submitted a purchase order to one of our affiliated retailers we do not request personally identifiable information from you on our Submission form. You may choose to provide your email address, but it is completely at the discretion of the user.
If you provided an e-mail address a confirmation of your submission will be sent to you via e-mail.
No personally identifying information, nor financial information, such as credit card number, is forwarded to us by the retailer. The retailer may provide us with information regarding the items purchased, but no other personally identifying information
If you provided an email address we may use this information if there is a discrepancy between your submission data and the activity report submitted to us by the retailer.
Additionally, if you contacted us via email and provided any other contact information, such as telephone number, we may use that information to contact you. That information will not be shared with any other parties.
If you are the individual coordinating a fundraising campaign we may use the information that you provided to us to contact you. We will not disclose that information to any other parties.
Application Forms
The Submission Form that must be completed in order to credit your charity or organization has only two required fields. You must report the retailer and the net amount of your purchase. All other fields are optional. However, in order to credit an organization with your purchase, it is highly advised that you indicate your favored organization.
Additionally, an indication of your school or university will allow us to better focus our marketing efforts and assess their performance. However, that field is also optional.
The Fundraiser Application contains request for information that is required to establish validity of the organization and identification of a responsible individual at that organization. Potentially sensitive information will not be requested on the web site.
Social Security Numbers or Taxpayer Identification Numbers
We will never require your social security number to credit your designated organization with your purchase from a retailer. The retailer will never forward personally identifying information to us.
In the case of Campus Reps or organizations for which we participate in their fundraising activities, we will require identifying information, such as Social Security Number or Taxpayer Identification Numbers, in order to make appropriate payments. However, these sensitive materials will not be solicited through the web site.
Surveys or Contests
From time to time we may we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and email address).
We will never use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.
Uses of Information
We use this information to modify our site to better meet the needs of the individuals using it. We utilize your contact information to obtain greater detail about your suggestions by directly contacting you in response to your suggestions.
Communications from the Site
Communications from the site are very limited and are undertaken only in the following situations.
Customer Service
If you contacted us via email we will use the personally identifying information that you sent us in order to contact you. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, in accordance with your wishes.
Profile
We do not store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, [and/or third party sources] to create a “profile” of your preferences. We do not tie your personally identifiable information, nor your purchasing history, to information in the profile, in order to provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve the content of the site for you.
We do not share your limited information or profile with other third parties. We may share your profile in aggregate form only in the case of a special fundraiser. That information will be limited to disclosing the number of individual purchase orders that were made in support of a fundraising effort. The individuals, nor their email address, if provided to us, will not be disclosed.
Supplementation of Information
We will never supplement the personal information you submitted to us with information from third party sources. We will not perform Credit Checks, Address verifications nor purchase marketing data from third parties.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)
We may share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our fundraising partners. This information does not identify individual users. The data sharing is limited to reporting the number of individual purchase orders that were submitted in support of a focused fundraising activity.
We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information.

Agents
We may use Campus Reps to promote our site. The Campus Reps, however, are not privy to any information regarding an individual’s activity on our site.
The Campus Reps, however, will receive monthly aggregate data that indicates the amount of purchase activity resuling from their Campus.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site
Choice/Opt-out
We do ot initiate any mailings to users of our site, other than confirmation emails. If you do not wish to receive such emails, do not provide your email address in the optional field.
Log Files
As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.
We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.
We do not link this automatically collected data to personally identifiable information.
We do use a third-party tracking service that uses cookies to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate. That information is limited to usage and volume statistics that we may use in order to assess the effectiveness of our site.
